According to Iranian state sources, the call marked the second contact between the two ministers within a 24-hour period, reflecting intensified regional diplomatic activity surrounding the negotiations.
The discussions come amid heightened tensions following earlier military escalations involving strikes attributed to the US and Israel against Iran in late February, which triggered a cycle of retaliatory actions across the region and increased strain in Gulf security dynamics, including disruptions affecting maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz.
